About
Walk, Run or Cycle on the famous Castle Combe motor racing circuit in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Inspired by Race For Life, Race For My Wife was established to give boys and men a similar opportunity to do their part for Cancer Research UK, with the inaugural event taking place on 1 October 2006 at Castle Combe motor racing circuit in Wiltshire.
I went along to watch and support my wife and her colleagues when they took part in the 2006 Newbury Race For Life event and found myself surrounded by many other men and boys who were unable to participate.
I think that much of the success of Race For Life is based on the fact that almost anyone can walk, jog or run a distance of 5k and yet, prior to Race For My Wife the only events I could find for men and boys were 10k or more, and so, I decided that a male only event with a shorter distance had to be the way to get more people raising more money for cancer research.
So join us this year and help us to make this event as big and successful as Race For Life.
